MANDALA LEFT NOTHING TO CHANCE WHEN IT CAME TO CREATING AN UNFORGETTABLE GUEST EXPERIENCE AT HOTEL FITZROY.

Hotel Fitzroy curated by Fable is a boutique Hotel situated in the heart of one of the most vibrant suburbs of Auckland and the first execution of a new hotel brand to the New Zealand market by CPG Hotels.

Every moment of Hotel Fitzroy has been carefully thought out to enhance the guests experience from booking the room to checking out.

The design encapsulated the local vibe of the contemporary and cosmopol­itan hub of the city. This is reflected in the choice of finishes, lighting and furniture, to the bespoke selection of amenities and local artists artworks for the ten-room boutique hotel. The architectural enhancement was unique in that the two storeyed heritage villa was converted with seven rooms along with a new build at the back with four rooms. This lent for the design concept to offer a bespoke service to the customers. One room in the old villa was transformed into an informal reception to welcome guests upon arrival with casual yet ostentatiously beautiful overscaled designer chairs. This gave the opportunity to break the norm of a hotel reception or check in desk with a more friendly meet and greet approach.

To enrich the experience further Mandala customised a space in the library for “on the house hors d’oeuvres and fine wine service”. Even the in-room breakfast service trays were carefully custom designed to cater to the head chef’s vision along with a selection of crockery, cutlery, glassware, napery, breadbaskets and the like. All these elements enabled the interior design to compliment a curated experience encompassing all elements of the service on offer by the brand.

The architectural base palette of subdued greys and black background has been enhanced with layers of other elements, colour and texture to provide a sense of warmth and homeliness urging guests to utilise the hotel as a place for short or long stay and as an escape in the heart of the city.

The result imbues the brand’s ethos, “create something unforgettable; something we would treasure and each of our guests would treasure too”
